Dry Needling is a rapidly growing, skilled intervention using a thin myofilament needle as part of a patient’s treatment plan that has been shown to help with the management of various movement impairments and pain reduction through various neuromuscular pathways. By inserting these thin needles, clinicians can gain access to tissue that they simply can’t address with their hands. The American Physical Therapist Association has recognized Dry Needling as an appropriate method of treatment for Physical Therapists to utilize and currently is approved by a large number of state regulatory boards. This Advanced course is open to any professional where Dry Needling is an accepted form of practice as determined by your state regulatory board and is designed to be taken after Fundamentals of Neuromuscular Dry Needling through Medical Minds in Motion.
In this extensive advanced neuromuscular dry needling class, you will build off your knowledge from Level 1 and incorporate it into techniques with a higher degree of skill and risk. Safe and effective needling techniques for the upper quarter, lower quarter and spine will be discussed, demonstrated and practiced with great extent. During this 3-day class you will have the opportunity to tie everything together and learn how to use Dry Needling as part of the treatment plan by incorporating IASTM, Taping and comprehensive exercise programs. Emphasis will be placed on safety and precautions of needling and the “why” component of needling. Upon understanding the why, clinicians will be able to pin point what they need to needle safely and efficiently prior to completing the rest of their treatment plan. At the end of this course, clinicians will feel comfortable to begin implementing advanced needling techniques into their practice as allowed by their regulating board.
